Hi everyone!
After an early breakfast we started off the day by attending Sunday service at Reverend Twum’s church. We got to sit front and center, and what we saw was very different than any other services we have been to. We danced around the church clapping, sang hymns, and did our best to understand what was being said in Twi. Luckily we had Boats, who has been so great helping us on this trip, to translate the sermon and explain what we couldn’t pick up on. It was a long service, close to three hours, and by the end we were a bit restless, but it was very interesting and a great experience, and I am glad it was something we got to do.
After the service ended, children and other church members shook our hands and wanted our email addresses. We were then invited into Reverend Twum’s mission house for refreshments and given a chance to ask questions about the service. We even got a second chance to learn on the Lord’s Prayer in Twi, we are getting better but still working on it. We then headed back to the hotel for lunch, rest, and relaxation. Later this evening we will be attending another service at the Methodist girls' school where Emily and Mallory will be giving the sermon. We are all doing well and having a great time. More to come soon!
Love, Megan
